I began my life’s work at the age of 15 with my first job working at a senior citizen nursing home, where I fell in love with senior citizens. I am honored and blessed to have a 94-year-old grandmother with moderately severe dementia. I’ve had the pleasure of being her caregiver during her last stages of life. At the age of 16,I started taking early childhood development courses with hands on training in our high school’s child development center. That’s when I knew my God‘s given gift was to serve. Since then I have started a lifetime of serving and helping families and individuals!
I have two adult sons, and that is where my newborn work began. My youngest son was born as a preemie at 28 weeks and had special needs in the hospital for 29 days and at home for three weeks. I have since then completed my CAPPA Postpartum Doula training and have the knowledge as well as the confidence to work with new and seasoned parents. As a postpartum doula I would provide evidenced-based information on things such as infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, mother-baby bonding, infant soothing, and basic newborn care. During my years working with children, I have cared for four sets of twins and have two set of twins in my family and thrive off the challenge. I am here to serve families that have experienced traditional as well as non-traditional pregnancies and births. I strongly believe it is important to help every client, family and child discover their own uniqueness.
I have 20+ great years in childcare. I feel that providing children with a fun, safe, and nurturing environment, they are sure to excel. I am proud to say that 70% of my children has tested gifted or were accepted into advance courses upon entering kindergarten. I have also worked with children w/learning disabilities/mental illnesses. I strongly believe that every child has a voice. I feel very comfortable talking and doing activities with children that relates to our Lord and Savior. I can help with light housework, school work and grocery shopping. I am willing to do overnights and travel with families. I have traveled both in the states and internationally.
I also have 20 years of foster care experience, being placed with teens (ages 15-20) with children (ages 0-2yrs) and two years as a registered behavior therapist. I feel it is key to provide families a safe, and nurturing environment, where they are sure to excel.
I have completed my CAPPA Postpartum Doula training and DONA Birthing Doula support training. I have the knowledge as well as the confidence to work with new and seasoned parents providing evidenced-based information helping and encouraging you to be the best parent to your child.
